To proceed with the notarization process for accessing a virtual mailroom address, you will need to provide both a primary and a secondary ID.
For the primary ID, US residents can use various forms of identification, such as:
- SSN
- Passport
- Driver's license
- State ID
- Permanent resident card
- Work permit
However, non-US residents must upload a valid passport - there is no other option available. Keep in mind that those are the requirements to notarize this form, and our platform is adapted to follow the procedures.
The secondary ID must contain your full name and matching home address.
US-residents accepted documents include:
- US State/Territory/Tribal Drivers or Nondriver's ID card
- US Access card
- Passport
- US Permanent resident card
- Current lease, mortgage or Deed of trust
- Home or vehicle insurance policy
- Vehicle registration card
- Voters card
- Uniformed Service ID
- Certificate of Naturalization
- US University ID card
Non-US residents must present one of these documents as secondary ID:
- Current lease or rental agreement: A legal contract between you and the property owner.
- Home or vehicle insurance policy: An official document from your insurance company.
- Mortgage or deed of trust: Legal paperwork related to your property ownership.
- Vehicle registration card: Official proof of your vehicle's registration.
- Voter card: A card issued to registered voters.
The secondary ID must be in English so the notary can understand what's written. If it is in a different language, it needs to be translated, and we advise that you do it by a certified translator. Another option would be to follow the Local Notarization process. In that case, you can use your document without translation.
In case you don't have any documents keep in mind that any shareholder or owner of the company can complete the notarization. If someone else has the necessary documents, they can complete the process. The secondary ID must have their full name and matching home address - documents with a family member's name will not be accepted.
